Linda Gail Shelor

Linda Gail Shelor, 71, of Bristol, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Born on December 23, 1953, in Roanoke, Virginia, Linda spent her early years in the Roanoke and Blacksburg areas before settling in Bristol in the mid-1980s. Linda went to school in Blacksburg, Virginia, and later made her mark as a dedicated hairdresser, serving her clients with care and creativity for over 30 years. A proud and devoted mother and grandmother, Linda was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Bristol, Virginia. She poured love into her family and found great joy in watching her grandchildren grow.

Linda was a woman of many passions- none greater than her love for horses. She found immense joy in riding, showing, and simply being around them. The scent of a barn brought her peace, and she rarely missed any television program about horses or westerns. She also had a deep affection for animals of all kinds- and a special knack for nurturing them.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Noah Rhymer.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Cleo Rhymer; daughters Torey Emmert (James) and Savannah Campbell (Jeff); brothers Paul Kessinger (Tonya) of Blacksburg, VA, and Doug Connor of Radford, VA; grandchildren Aidric and Remyngton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal shelter in Linda's honor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
