Lisa James Rudd

Lisa James Rudd, 62, of Bristol, TN, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, after a 15-month battle with cancer.

Lisa retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service. She then retired from the US Department of State after 11 years of service.

Lisa was a prolific crocheter and knitter, and completed many needlepoint and diamond painting projects. She loved being in her "Granny Pod" to do her crafting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and LaRue James, her son Cory, and two sisters.

Her husband, David J. Rudd of Bristol, TN, survives her along with her daughter Arielle Twisdom and granddaughter Lily of New Brighton, PA, and stepsons Brian, Michael, and Matthew Rudd of Warren, OH.

A military service will be held at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN, beginning at 3:00 p.m. on August 28, 2026. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Stateline Bar & Grill, State Street, Bristol, TN, starting at 4:30 p.m.
