Lora Lou Grammont Philbrick, born November 19, 1941, in Enid, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family in her Tennessee home, on March 6, 2026.
Lora was a woman of warmth, creativity, and quiet strength. She found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments-singing songs that filled a room with comfort, sewing with care and skill, and playing the piano with a gentle touch that brought people together. Her talents were an expression of her love for others and the life she built around family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Elva Grammont, and her husband, Gary Philbrick.
Lora is survived by her children: Terri Duncan (Steve Duncan), Debra Wood (David Wood), and Robert Philbrick (Glenna Philbrick). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Tyler Duncan (Linsey Duncan), Emily Turbyfill (Noah Turbyfill), Matthew Duncan (Mikayla Duncan), Zachary Duncan (Julie Duncan), Caleb Wood, Brooke Philbrick, and Garrett Philbrick.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Breylon Duncan, Rowan Duncan, and Asher Duncan, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is also survived by her sisters, Lois Howard (J. Howard) and Janice Thompson (Harry Thompson), as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dinah Bays for her love, care, and compassion shown to Lora.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Lora will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of music and creativity, and the deep devotion she had for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will continue to live on in all who knew her.
