Listen to Obituary

Marilyn Kay Frazier, 77, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2026.

It is with deep sadness and profound love that we remember Marilyn Kay Frazier, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around her faith and the people she loved most. Marilyn was a woman who found joy in the simple and precious moments of life, especially those spent with her family. She had a warm heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a way of making the people around her feel loved and special.

Marilyn attended Dungannon High School and later worked at First Tennessee Bank. She was a member of the Bible Way group, where her faith and love for God's Word remained an important part of her life. She loved reading her Bible and often found comfort and strength in Scripture. Verses such as Psalm 23:1-3, Philippians 4:13, and John 14:27 held a special place in her heart.

Marilyn was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she treasured every opportunity to make memories with them. She loved to laugh and could find joy in the little things. She especially enjoyed shopping and going to yard sales with her granddaughter, turning an ordinary day into another special memory they could share together.

Those who knew Marilyn will remember phrases she often said. Whenever she saw or heard something sweet and special she would say: "God love it." Those simple words captured so much of her heart. She had another thing she would say to reinforce her love for those close to her: "I love you infinity." She had a genuine appreciation for the people and blessings in her life, and her family will undoubtedly hear her voice in their memories whenever they encounter something that would have made her smile and say, "God love it."

Marilyn's faith also gave her hope beyond this life. One of the greatest things on her heart was the thought of seeing her precious two-year-old great-grandson again in Heaven. She looked forward to that reunion with a mother's and grandmother's love, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now with the loved ones who went before her.

Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Richard Lynn Frazier, father of Morgan and twins Bryce and Blake Frazier; and Brandon Shane Frazier, father of Quentin and Joshua Frazier. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Morgan Frazier, Quentin Arnold, Joshua Frazier, Bryce Frazier, and Blake Frazier, and her precious great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her loving sister, Pauline Calton; special nephew Greg Leonard; great-niece Katelyn Snypes and her husband, Josh Snypes; and great-great-niece Kierra Snypes.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Shelton Gillenwater and Jewell Gillenwater Elam; her stepfather, James Elam; her ex-husband and the father of her two sons, Rudy Lynn Frazier; her brothers, Donald Gillenwater and Gary Gillenwater; her sister, Margaret Wallen; and her beloved two-year-old great-grandson.

As Marilyn's family remembers her, the words of John 14:27 offer a beautiful reminder of the peace she now knows:

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
