Marilyn May "Sandy" Peters, 87, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sandy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1939 to Raymond Peters and Madeline Jamieson. She carried a warm and caring spirit throughout her life, cherishing the time she spent with those she loved most. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to her family, and her memory will be treasured always.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Pauline; step-father, Robert; sister, Madeline "Cookie" Kennedy; beloved daughter, Donna "Cookie" Bushong; and son-in-law, Rickey Lee Rolen.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her love: her daughters, Susie Rolen and Laurie Hill (Chris); her son, Randy Elam (Susan); and her son-in-law, Jeff Bushong; her siblings, Ramona Peters and Leonard Peters (Aileen); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mick), Ramona Sue (Ben), Jessica (Adam), Amanda (Charlie), Kevin (Erin), Brandon (Stacy), Quintin, and Josh; her great-grandchildren, Elliana, Fiona, Finley, Macy Kate, Shiloh, Harrison, Indy, Karter Rhea, Faith, Alyssa, Mckenna, Isla, and Lake; and her great-great-granddaughters, Violet and Scarlett.
In honor of Sandy's life, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Dominic Catholic Parish or Saint Mary's Catholic Parish.
A private funeral Mass for the immediate family will be held at Saint Dominic Catholic Parish. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (East Tennessee time), via the following link:
