Marion W. Fox, "Bud" to everyone who knew him, moved from this life to eternal life with Christ in the early hours of October 12, 2026.

Bud was the most amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He fell in love with the girl who tripped over his feet at a college dance. Bud married her, Ruth Ramey, on August 20, 1969. He and Ruth celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary just a few weeks ago and loved each other deeply for sixty years. Together, they had three beautiful daughters- Katye Fox, Melissa Avery, and Emily Ellis. He welcomed Charles Avery and Ben Ellis as sons-in-love. Bud was "Grandad" to Emmie, Lily, Eden, Noah, Sophia, Caroline, Natalie, Abram, Willa, and Daniel, all of whom brought him immense joy.

As the son of Bob and Edith Fox, of Wesley's Chapel, Greene County, TN, Bud grew up farming with his father, many neighbors, and friends, including his life long friend, Fred Weems. His only sister, Mary Anita, preceded him in death. He was both son and brother-in-law, as well as cousin, to a tribe of people across Appalachia and beyond. He was uncle to nieces and nephews spanning three generations. His heart claimed many of them as his own.

Bud exemplified loving the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul and strength, and he loved his neighbors as himself. While working in downtown Atlanta, he would often take those in need to a nearby restaurant and buy them a meal, choosing to sit down and eat with them, instead of rushing on by. He was a servant leader, doing the hardest, ickiest, or most undesirable task. He was an honorable serviceman to his nation and loved the Church. Bud was a hard worker and a student of life until the time when his health slowed him down. He was a teacher, a craftsman, a storyteller, a singer, and a faith-shaper. Bud loved to make people laugh, believing it to be medicine, and was known as "Mr. Super-dyna-whoppin". (Now, if you can say that you can own it.) He could look at anyone or anything, including bent nails and broken down lawn mowers, and recognize the tremendous value therein. We give thanks for his patient, committed, and Spirit-led life. He is at home rejoicing with his Lord.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Bud's family would like to thank some very special people for the gift of encouragement and care they have given: the Amedisys Home Health and Hospice teams, Kristina Moody of Creative Care, LLC, Curtis Litton (the world's greatest speech therapist), and Susan Pendleton (the best of the best in caregiving).

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you consider donating to either Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (<https://www.choa.org/donors-and-volunteers/individual-giving>), Wesley's Chapel Church (1525 North Wesleys Chapel Rd, Greeneville, TN, United States, Tennessee) , or your ministry of choice.
