Martha Jon Eachus Clark

Martha Jon Eachus Clark, 62, of Church Hill, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. Martha was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on June 21, 1956. She was a graduate of Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee, and she worked in printing and writing. Martha volunteered with the Hawkins County Genealogical & Historical Society for many years and was editor of Distant Crossroads. After becoming a volunteer for the Hawkins County Archives, Martha completed work at the Tennessee State Archives in Nashville to become a trained archivist. She graduated in 2018. Over the years, Martha Jon completed exhaustive research on the Derrick and Eachus family lines. Genealogy was a calling and a passion for M.J., and her family remains grateful for her work. Martha Jon was loved by many, she had a fine sense of humor, and she will be greatly missed. Her father, John Eachus, preceded her in death. Surviving are her loving husband, Michael "Mike" Clark; her mother, Helen Derrick Eachus, both from Church Hill; and many cousins. A private memorial service will be held on the Nolichucky River, June 21, 2019, her birthday. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to be serving the Clark family.
