Martha Katherine Lewis

Martha "Sue" Katherine Lewis, age 80, of Kingsport, TN went home to rest on Friday, March 13th, 2026. Sue was unexpectedly born to surprised, yet seasoned parents on February 19th, 1946 in Memphis, TN. An "oopsie-daisey baby" as her siblings were teenagers when she arrived. Although a surprise she was a pleasant one. She cared that spirit with her through her life and brought joy to many. She was adored by all who knew her and certainly had a way with words and children. She raised many. She also had many close friends who called her family and adored her as well. She was well spoken and educated and made that a part of her everyday life. She never stopped loving or teaching others.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter: Alicia Denise Lewis Tolbert, her husband, James Lewis Jr. mother and father, Gladys & James Simpson.

She leaves behind: her grandson, James Douglas and his partner Bryanna Michelle; son, James Christopher Lewis and partner Sherry Hartsell; grandson, Thomas Christopher and wife, Katelynn and 4 children; Wyatt James, 7; Milo Lynn, 4; Micah Anthony, 3; Eloise Mae, 2; granddaughter, Lindsey Christine and wife, Misty Mercer and their 3 daughters; Lily Anne, 11; Lenora Grace, 10; Rose Arabella Reign, 8. A light went out in the world when she left and she will be sorely missed but her memories will keep us company, that which she would be comforted by.
