Marvin Dean, 68, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lilly Clark and father Bea Dean; sister, Mae Dean; son, Billy Dean; brothers, Hue Jack Dean, Walter Fred Dean; sister, Coreen Quillen.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Dean; step-son, James W. Hooks; daughter-in-law, Shannon Hooks; son, Roger Dean; sisters, Eva Joyce Dean of Norfolk, Va, Shirley Smallwood of Weber City, Va; brother, Ralph Dean and wife Luella of Nickelsville, Va, Don Dean and wife Betty of Kingsport, Tn; grandkids, James Hooks Jr (Jasmine Mitchell), Nicholas Hooks, Chelsey Hooks (Kadin Harris), Jamie Hooks, Cody Hooks, Jasmine Mitchell, Kden Harris; two special great grandkids, Ivory Rayne Harris and Monti Hooks; two special friends, Ben and Sherry Donovan.

Private viewing for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. There will be no formal services at this time.
