Mary Elizabeth Patterson (80), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was a longtime resident of Mount Carmel, Tennessee, where she built a life filled with love, family, friendship, and countless cherished memories. She was a woman who found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time with the people she loved.
Mary had a creative and caring spirit. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and cooking, but one of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. Her love for her family was evident in the time she gave them, the memories she created with them, and the love she carried for each of them.
Mary is survived by her husband, Terry Patterson; her children, Steven and Ruth Ann Craven; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Anna Craven, and Jackson Craven; her great-grandchildren, Danielle Justice and Blake Craven; and her great-great-grandchildren, Veronica and Thiago Delgado. She is also survived by her dear and special friends, Eva and Jordan Grapperhaus, Amy Antrican, and Tammy Wells.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Martha Duncan; her sisters, Wanda Hamilton, Betty Jo Duncan and Faye Brown; her daughter, Sharon Sanborn; her granddaughter, Savannah Craven.
Though Mary is no longer with us, her love, creativity, kindness, and the memories she made with those around her will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The immediate family and close friends will have a private graveside service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, where she will be interred.
