Melissa Anne Matthews

Missy Matthews, 59, of the Van Hill Community, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home November 27th, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Those left to cherish Missy's memory are her loving husband of 34 years, Marty; her son, Travis; her granddaughter, Riley; her brothers, Robert Jones, Jay Bernard, and Michael Bernard; her sister, Regina Bernard; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Kevin; her father, TJ Bernard; her mother, Virginia Bernard; her step-mother, Pat Bernard; her sister, Cora Bernard; and her father- and mother-in-law, Rev. Frank & Helen Matthews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Matthews Family Cemetery (2236 Beech Creek Rd. Rogersville, TN 37857). The Rev. Bob Simpson and Rev. Rex Miller will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, Jay Bernard, Travis Matthews, Hunter Harrison, Jason Bernard, and Eddie Massingill.
