Melissa Michele Nichols

Melissa of Johnson City, TN was born on Sept 25,1977 met her heavenly father on Dec 12, 2025 at the age of 48, while surrounded by her children and grandson. Melissa was the oldest daughter between, father Freddie Vancleave and mother Martha Grayson Magee of Yazoo City, MS. Melissa moved to TN in 2014 to provide a better life for her younger children. In 2022 when her husband became sick, they moved back to MS where he could get the medical attention he needed. She became his caregiver until she became sick herself.

Melissa was a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and most importantly her children. She was known and loved for her contagious laugh and ability to fill a room with love. She loved music, art, cooking, and animals. She was the best mother, sister, and wife to her late husband Edwin Magee of 12 years. When her first grandson Dante was born, she was overjoyed to be a "MeMe". He was the light of her life.

Melissa's life may have been shorter than we wished, but her love and legacy will live in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Vancleave, her first husband, Steve Nichols and current husband, Edwin Magee.

She is survived by her children: Joseph Horrall, Taylor Nichols, Kado Nichols, Amber Nichols Reel and Cody Nichols. Brothers: Fredrick VanCleave, Josh Moore, and Justin Moore. Sisters: Allisha VanCleave Frierson, Audrey VanCleave, and Sharon VanCleave. Step Mother: Lynette VanCleave. Countless Niece's and Nephew's.
