Michael Wayne Hardie, Sr.

Michael Wayne Hardie, Sr., 61, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, TN and he was a retired cook from Indian Path Medical Center. He was a pro boxer and he loved sports and enjoyed computers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Verna Hardie; and sister, Carmetia Hardie Perry. He is survived by his sons, Michael Hardie, Jr., Jonathan Hardie (both of Detroit, MI), and Jet Boyge (Kingsport, TN); nieces, Korenna Donald (Flint, MI), Angeline Hardy (Kingsport, TN) and Michelle Cochran Detroit, MI); and grandchildren, Michael James Hardie and Zoe Dorothy Hardie. A military graveside will be held at 10:45 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with honors conducted by American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
