Misty Renee Lyons

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Misty R. Dillard Lyons, age 48, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Misty passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Holston Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She fought a long, courageous, and difficult battle with COPD.

Misty was born on January 24,1978, to the late Ronald J. Dillard and Sandra Morgan Dillard.

Misty loved her family and friends deeply and never missed an opportunity to tell them. She had a huge heart, a warm spirit, and was known for giving the longest, most heartfelt hugs. She had a big personality and a loud, contagious laugh that brought joy to those around her. She enjoyed watching wrestling and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved.

Misty was raised in a Christian home and loved the Lord with all her heart. She found comfort in knowing that death was not the end, but a reunion to come. She often reminded others that when her time came, they should remember that she was not gone forever, and she lovingly said that "RIP" stood for "Reunion in Progress."

Misty is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard Lyons; her sons, Samuel Lyons and Allen Lyons; her sister, Penney Dillard Davis and husband Tim; her brother, Ronald "Buddy" Dillard, Jr. and wife Tonia; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and many special friends all who will miss her tremendously.

While we mourn Misty's passing from this earth, we also celebrate her life and the love she shared with so many. A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660) on Friday, October 2nd, 2026. Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 P.M. with service to follow. Mitchell Young will be officiating.
