Nancy Boyd Hooven

Nancy Boyd Hooven, 71, of Kingsport, TN, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday March 27th, 2026.

Nancy was born in New Kensington, PA, but spent the majority of her life in Kingsport, TN, where she attended St Dominic's Catholic School, was a graduate in the class of 1972 at Dobyns Bennett High School, then proceeded to study drafting at Tri-Cities State Technical Institute. Her favorite job was at True Value Hardware Store. In her spare time Nancy enjoyed riding with her family or friends, whether it was to Gatlinburg, or to Johnny Cash's house. She enjoyed many sports, with football being her favorite. She was a lifelong UT Vols & Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved music, the outdoors, hunting for Bigfoot, sleepovers with her daughters & grandbabies, holiday celebrations, game shows, & playing the lottery. She was a dedicated wife, mother, & Grommy; she could always be depended on. She loved her some Nancy!

Nancy is preceded in death by her mother & father Dorothy & Kenneth Boyd, sisters Patricia Dowell, & Ilene Glymp, & best friend Deborah Conkin.

Nancy is survived by her husband, her "Babycakes" Peter Hooven, sister Mary Catherine (John) Nance & brother Richard Boyd. Daughters Jennifer (Don) Kincaid, Elizabeth Blair, & Victoria (Bruce) Williams. Grandchildren Auria Barrett, Kaira (Brandon) Kincaid, Dontre Kincaid, Devin Hooven, & Brentley (Ruby) Blair. Great-grandchildren Ezra & Mayumi Barrett, Kennedy, Keylan, & Braylen Byrd, & Alijah Kincaid. Special family member Deana Demonbreun, & best friend Deborah Watson. Nancy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, & friends.

The family will receive friends at Trinity Memorial Centers Friday April 3rd, 2026 from 7pm to 9pm to remember & honor Nancy's life.

The family would like to express gratitude to ICU staff at Holston Valley Medical Center, & Bristol Select for their kind & compassionate care of Nancy.
