Nancy Ellen McClain

Nancy Ellen McClain, 79, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1945, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late John and Lillian Wright, and spent her life rooted in faith, family, and kindness.

Nancy's days were filled with the simple joys that brought her heart peace - reading her Bible, admiring the beauty of her flowers, feeding the birds outside her window, and treating herself to her sweets. Above all, she cherished time with her loved ones. For many years, she lovingly cared for children, creating a safe and happy place for them and leaving behind memories they will hold close for a lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Cecil Lee McClain; her parents, John and Lillian Wright; her son, Anthony Lee McClain; and her granddaughter, Rachel Ellen McClain.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lorie (McClain) Herrin; sister, Sue Ketron; brothers, Johnny Wright and his wife Linda, and Ken Wright and his wife Margaret; granddaughter, Korynn Dresher and her husband Jacob; grandsons, Andrew Herrin and his wife Hannah, Aiden Herrin, and Jacob McClain; granddaughters, Sarah Singh and her husband, and Megan Keesling and her husband Shannon. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her great joy.

Nancy's gentle love and unwavering faith will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at Miracle Park in Kingsport, Tennessee, Saturday, August 16 from 6-8 PM.
