Pamela Julia Vanhoy

Pamela Julia Vanhoy, 52, of Watauga, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Pamela was born in West Virginia and graduated from Ripley High School, where she proudly cheered on the sidelines as a cheerleader. She and her husband, Travis, were high school sweethearts and shared 35 wonderful years together. More than anything, Pamela loved being a wife and mother, her family was her greatest joy. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Pamela had a creative spirit and a deep love for art. She poured her heart into spreading God's word through her writing and children's books, combining her talent and faith in beautiful ways. She loved spending time outdoors and could often be found walking through Watauga, usually with her beloved dog, Babygirl, riding happily in a stroller by her side.

Pamela was outgoing and outspoken, wild, free, and full of life. She had a contagious laugh, a million-dollar smile, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. She would give you the shirt off her back, never let anyone leave her house hungry, and would have offered a home to anyone who needed one. She truly had one of the most loving and caring hearts imaginable, she was a shining light to all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by her family, who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Travis Vanhoy; father, Eddie Parsons; mother, Christy Kelly Parsons; sisters, Polla Johnson (David), Priscilla Parsons, and Sarah Kelly; daughter, Samantha Vanhoy; sons, Colby Vanhoy and Cory Vanhoy; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
