Peggy Anne Dexter born October 4, 1945, in Charleston, SC. She was raised in Key West, Florida. She passed to eternity while surrounded by family on May 9, 2026, in Johnson City, TN. Peggy was preceeded in death by her parents Charles McCauley and Inez Russell, her loving husband Arthur, beautiful daughter Nora, grandson Lawrence, brothers Harry, Johnny, Jack, and James and her sister Kathy.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jennifer Eckert, husband Gabe, son Tom Dexter and wife Jennifer, and daughter Jora Paris. Her grandchildren that she loved and raised as her own Austin and Angel and her beloved boys Christopher and Matthew. Her precious grandchildren Lauren, Lily, and Alex. And her sister Millie Gorson, her memory will also be treasured by several neices, nephews and dear friends.

Peggy spent her life dedicated to caring for her family, the epitome of selflessness. She opened her heart and home to anyone who needed love, comfort, or a place to belong. She endured many hardships in life but her courage, strength and perseverence was unmatched and an inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. Everything she did came from her heart. Her wisdom, strength, and kindness shaped the lives of so many. Cooking was her love language and no one left her house without a full belly and a full heart. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be announced by family at a later time. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care of Peggy, especially Nikki, her nurse.
