Penelope Ann Mahon

Penelope Ann Mahon, 82, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Penni was the epitome of integrity, kindness, strength, resiliency, and sacrifice. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Ever the pragmatist, Penni's charm and wit made it easy for her to connect with anyone and everyone on a level that met them where they were at that moment.

Penni married her lifetime partner, Thomas Mahon, in 1962 to see the world with the US Air Force. She was ready for every adventure. They enjoyed almost 64 years of life together.

Penni is survived by her two brothers, James and Daniel, her husband Thomas, and three of her four children, Suzy, Tommy and Jenni. All of them felt her impact on their lives in innumerable ways. Her wit, integrity, intellect, and her work ethic were legendary.

Penni was a gifted mother who taught all her children to drive and ensured her progeny had all the tools to go forth in the world and thrive.
