Penny Michelle Chance

Mrs. Penny Michelle Chance passed away peacefully at her home on November 9, 2025, in Kingsport, Tennessee, at the age of 61.

Born on May 7, 1964, in Kingsport, Penny was a lifelong resident who cherished her hometown and the many connections she made within it. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories shared with family and friends.

Penny is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce Chance of Kingsport. She was a devoted mother to four children: daughters Angela Navalta (Mark) and Rozie Chance; and sons Chris Slemp (Amanda) and Josh (Melinda), all of Kingsport. She took great joy in her role as grandmother to eight grandchildren-granddaughters Patty, Kenzie, Alley, Brooklyn, and Lexi Navalta; and grandsons Jordan, Matthew, and Maverick Slemp.

She is also survived by her brother Fred Moore of Church Hill, Tennessee; nephew Nathan Ford (Abby) of Waverly, West Virginia; niece Christine Sams (Chad) of Lewisburg, West Virginia; along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ray and Sybel Nell Bombailey; her sister Rhonda Ford; and her sister-in-law Helen Moore.

A service honoring Penny's life will held on Monday November 17, 2025 at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewbail Circle, in Kingsport, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm. Services will follow at 4pm at the same location with Reverend Greg Graybeal officiating.

Penny's warmth and spirit will live on through the lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
