Rebecca Carol Spivey

Rebecca Carol Spivey, 50, of Duffield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Rebecca was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, where her bright smile and kind heart first began touching lives. She attended Walters State Community College in Morristown, and it was soon after that she met the love of her life, Rickie Spivey. The two were married in 1999, and made their home together in Duffield, Virginia - a place that became the backdrop for countless memories of laughter, family, and love.

Rebecca was a devoted wife and a loving mother who poured her heart into her family. Her daughter, Caroline, held a special place in her heart that no one else could fill. She also cherished her mother, Lois, and her brothers and sisters, always finding time for a call, a visit, or just a long conversation that left everyone feeling lighter and loved. Rebecca had a gift for connection; she could talk to anyone, and before long, a stranger would become a friend.

Rebecca loved the beach. She loved the warmth of the sun, the sound of ocean waves, and could happily spend an entire day on the beach with a good book in hand. Though she adored the bright colors of autumn, she was happiest in the glow of summer, surrounded by those she loved - including her loyal German Shepherd, Jolene.

Her kindness and easy laughter made her a light in every room, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship that will continue to ripple through the lives of those who knew her.

Rebecca is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Rickie Spivey; daughter, Caroline Woodard; mother, Lois Thacker; sister, Vivian Mitchell; brother, Jason Thacker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close friends Mitzie Franklin and Kim Ratliff. She also leaves behind a dear friend who was like family, Randy "Tootie" Tipton, known for his special hugs.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
