Richard Eugene "Rick" Edens

Richard Eugene "Rick" Edens, 78, of Erwin, TN and formerly of Jonesville, VA, passed away March 26, 2026, at his home in Erwin, TN.

He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was retired from a long career working for Walmart. He was a member of Grace Church in Erwin,TN.

He is survived by Shirleen Orr Edens, his wife of 59 years; two sons, Richard "Rich" and Shelley Edens, and Robert and Megan Edens, all of Erwin, TN; daughter, Barbara "Beth" and Bradley Redmond of Knoxville, TN; and sister, Martha and Michael Willis, of Pennington Gap, VA.

He is also survived by his pride and joy, his grandchildren: Sydney and Billy Elmore, Gracie and Matthew Gutierrez, Lauren and James Ellington, James Katy Edens, Bailey Redmond, and Linnie Edens. He is also survived by his other pride and joy, his great grandchildren: Ficsher and Eden Ellington.

Survivors also include his his extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law and their husbands whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Eugene and Hazel Edens; brother Mark Edens, and great- grandchild Hollis Ellington.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29th, at Grace Church in Erwin, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Grace Church or a charity of your choice.
