Ricky Scott Trent

Ricky Scott Trent, 61, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Ricky attended Dobyns-Bennett High School. He had a great personality and a smile that would light up the room. He had a way of making you laugh, even on your worst days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nancy Trent; sisters, Brenda Copeland and Shirley Copas; and brother, Eugene Trent.

He is survived by his children, Devon Trent, Dylan Johnson (wife Ashley), and Madisyn Trent; sisters, Sue Britt (husband Lee), Wilma Morgan, Sharon Larkin (husband Eddie), Tammy Ferguson (husband James Ferguson); and brothers, Larry Trent, Mike Trent (Kay Trent), Randy Trent, and Wayne Trent (Tammy Trent); his first love and the mother of his children, Sherry Jackson; and girlfriend, Paula Jones, and her daughter, Katelyn Jones. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ricky will be remembered as a very special dad and brother who will be deeply missed. Our hearts were broken the day you left us. Fly high.
