Sandra Joan Smith

Sandra Joan Smith, age 87, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of Goshen, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2026. She was born on August 5, 1938, in Ligonier, Indiana, to the late John and Edith Guthrie.

Sandra was a faithful follower of Jesus and lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion, and love for her family. She worked for Penn Controls/Johnson Controls for 42 years, where her dedication and strong work ethic were evident throughout her many years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her six-year-old brother, "Little Johnny" Guthrie.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wengerd and husband Floyd; granddaughter, Chanel Catron and husband Andrew; grandson, Dylan Wengerd and wife Jaclyn; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Whitley Catron.

A private memorial ceremony will be held in Tennessee, with burial to follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana.
