Sara Louise Adkins, 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warm heart and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ferguson; her beloved parents, John and Cathryn Glover; and her brother, who she loved dearly, Wayne Glover.
Sara is survived by her children, Lorie Lingerfelt, Kimberly Ferguson, and Lynn Ferguson; grandchildren, Ben Cross, Logan Cross, Jacob Hughes, Hallie Duckworth, Kristen Duckworth, Richie Channell, Samantha McNelly, and Joseph Channell; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed attending church and bible study at the assisted living. Reading and playing Bingo were among her favorite hobbies. She enjoyed watching old westerns, especially classics such as Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, and The Rifleman. Sara cherished spending time with her friends, sharing stories, and reminiscing about old times. She also adored family gatherings, where she could laugh, visit, and play with her great-grandchildren.
Sara will be remembered as a sweet, loving woman who deeply cherished her family. Her kindness, laughter, and the stories she told will live on through the generations she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 3297 Rock Springs Rd, Piney Flats, TN 37686, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 PM prior to the service.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the church.
