Sara Jean Hilliard

Sara Jean Hilliard, 45, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Sara was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She had a beautiful spirit and a smile that could brighten any room, even on her hardest days. Her family was the center of her world, and she devoted herself to making sure those she loved were cared for, supported, and surrounded by love.

Sara will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. She had a caring heart and left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James David Eads; grandmother, Viola Eads; and granddaughter, Savannah Grace Couch.

Sara is survived by her loving husband, Jessee Hilliard; daughter, Kimberly Couch and husband Ashton Couch; son, James Hilliard; daughters, Stephanie Hilliard and fiancé Jonathan Guire, and Brianna Hilliard; grandchildren, Jaxon, Helena, Lokata, and Aliyana; sister, Lisa Chambers and husband James Chambers; father-in-law, David Hilliard Sr.; brother-in-law, David Hilliard Jr.; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

The family will share memorial service information with family and friends at a later time.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Tennessee Cancer Specialists for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed to Sara during her time with them.
