Sarah "Wilma" Jean Hartgrove

Sarah Wilma Jean Hartgrove, 62, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 12, 2025. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, Wilma loved spending time with her family and friends, and had a passion for cooking and caring for others.

She was a caregiver in every sense of the word; caring for family when ill and working with special needs adults. Wilma's passion for cooking was the highlight of the Holidays, especially because of her "old fashioned" stuffing, chicken, and deviled eggs.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Phil; her parents, Habron and Ruth Necessary; her sister, Venus Absher; and step-son, Kurtis Hartgrove. Her sister, Jenny Carrico, followed Wilma to Eternal rest a few days after her passing.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, John Hartgrove and wife, Sarah; her grandchildren, Kurtis Hartgrove and Tayah Hartgrove; her sisters, Elizabeth Franklin and husband, William, and Freda Hilton; brothers, Teddy Necessary, Charles Necessary, Dewey Necessary, and Mark Necessary; brother-in-law, Bruce Carrico; her step-daughters, Maxine, Missy, and Debbie; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660), with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Tim Jarrett.

Wilma's family would like to extend a special "thank you" to her caregivers, Freda Hilton, Crystal Arnette, Jackie Daniels, and Katie Daniels for taking exceptional care of Wilma.
