Sharon Ann Hoy, 54, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Born to the late Myra Bee Williams and Tyrone Cooper Hoy, Sharon grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She graduated from Cooley High School, where she built lifelong friendships and first discovered her love for music and laughter, two things that would remain at the heart of her life.
Sharon spent many years working in janitorial and independent cleaning services, known by all her clients for her dependability and kind spirit. No matter how challenging life became, Sharon met each day with a smile, a song, and her signature laugh that could light up any room.
Those who knew her best will remember her as fun, outspoken, and deeply loyal. Sharon never hesitated to help a friend or family member in need, she was the first to show up and the last to leave, making sure everyone was cared for. She had a sweet, gentle voice that could calm your worries, and a laugh that reminded everyone to find joy in the little things. If you were loved by Sharon, you knew it without question.
Sharon is survived by her loving partner Roy Phillips; daughter Desiree Hoy; grandson Kevin Smith; siblings Gwendolyn Moore, John Moore, Steve Moore, Verl Moore, Denise Hoy, and Pathenia Hoy; niece Myra Allen; and many other beloved family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was cremated in accordance with her wishes. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
A Message from Her Daughter
To my mother:
You were my constant source of tender words and unconditional love. A caring soul who would give her last dollar to help anyone. You've been fighting for so long, I'm both happy and heartbroken that you're now gone.
I love you after this life, and there will always be an ache in my heart until we meet again. Kev and I will carry you with us and continue to live our lives in ways that would make you proud. Your presence and love will continue to be felt and hold me up with strength.
Rest well, Mommy.
With all the love in my heart,
Desi
