Listen to Obituary

Sharon Kay Ketron, 68, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Born and raised in Kingsport, Sharon graduated from Ketron High School in Bloomingdale in 1975. Not long after, she began what would become a more than 25-year career in Personnel with K-Mart, where she was known for her steady work ethic, quiet dependability, and the simple kindness she showed to everyone who crossed her path.

Sharon married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Ketron, and the two spent 52 years walking through life side by side. Their marriage was built on friendship and strengthened by faith. As a longtime member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church, Sharon lived her beliefs in the way she cared for others and in the straightforward honesty that shaped her personality.

Though she wasn't a big talker, Sharon had a gift for sayings, those little one-liners and bits of truth that stayed with you long after she spoke them. She never shied away from telling you what she thought, offering her own version of a "come-to-Jesus moment" when she felt you needed it. Those who loved her came to appreciate that directness, because behind it was a heart that truly cared.

Sharon enjoyed scrapbooking and crocheting, creating small, thoughtful pieces that carried her love stitched, glued, or written into them. She was a devoted cat lover, always happiest with one curled at her feet or beside her chair. She cherished the simple pleasures in life like the warm comfort of the heated seats in her Mercedes.

Family was the center of Sharon's world. She made countless trips to Nashville to spend time with her mother, and she embraced the role of special aunt, adored by her nieces and nephews who knew they could always count on her for love, support, and straightforward wisdom. Her qualities as a mothering figure extended far; she nurtured, guided, and cared for her family in her own quiet, steadfast way.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Edward Dale DeZarn; her siblings, Debra Ann DeZarn, Kevin Dale DeZarn, and Cyndee Ann DeZarn; her grandparents on both sides; and her great-nephew, Mordecai.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Ketron; her mother, Louise DeZarn; her brother, Tony DeZarn; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever feel the space she leaves behind.

"This, too, shall pass."

Services will be announced here at a later date.
