Shawnie Lynn Pate

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shawnie Lynn Pate who went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026, at the age of 57. She passed after a long and courageous journey, one marked by strength, resilience, and enduring love.

Shawnie was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She had a deep love for the ocean, finding peace in its waves, and she cherished traveling and experiencing new places. She was incredibly proud of becoming a nurse and a massage therapist-careers that beautifully reflected her nurturing spirit and her desire to help others heal, both physically and emotionally.

Her life was one of compassion, service, and perseverance. Even through hardship, she continued to give of herself and love fiercely. Her faith carried her through some of the most difficult seasons, and she faced them with grace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Pate, and her son, Jacob Carr. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them-whole, healed, and at peace.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Josi Carr and Jonica Martin; her parents, Jeanne and John Autry; her cherished grandchildren, Asher and Colton; and her faithful companion, Katie, her beloved dog who brought her so much comfort and joy.

Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she is no longer in pain and is resting in eternal comfort. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the care she gave, and the love she shared so freely.

A service to honor Shawnie Pate will be held on February 5, 2026 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Trinity Memorial Center in Kingsport, Tennessee
