Sherrie Ann Gilreath, 53, of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to the Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her. Known for her unwavering spirit and deep love for her family, Sherrie lived a life full of compassion, joy, and resilience.
She was born on March 21, 1972, to John and Helen Good and was raised in Church Hill, where she attended school and carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life.
Sherrie dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a CNA at Asbury, where she was known for her compassion and patience. Her love for others extended far beyond her profession-she was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a beloved sister.
An animal lover through and through, Sherrie found joy and comfort in the company of her four cherished dogs-Little Bit, Girl, Boy, and Scrappy-whom she loved taking on long walks. She was a familiar and joyful face at the Bristol drag races, where she enjoyed the thrill and energy of the crowd. But her greatest joy came from spoiling her grandchildren, whose lives were deeply enriched by her presence, kindness, and boundless affection.
For over 20 years, Sherrie shared her life with Johnny Ray, her steadfast partner and confidant. Though never married, their bond was one of deep love and enduring loyalty.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her sons, Bobby Hite Jr. and Joseph Carl Hite; their father, Bobby Hite Sr.; her parents, John and Helen Good; and her brother-in-law, Shannon Watkins.
She is survived by her daughters, Brittany Hite and Shilow Presley; grandchildren, Haiden Hite, Corbin and Graylynn Ruth Presley, Joseph Elijah Carl Hite, and Brendan Sean Hite; sisters, Susan Watkins and Cindy Sanders; brother, William Good; and many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth, laughter, and love.
Sherrie's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced via Facebook.
