Silas Edward McCracken

Silas Edward McCracken, age 65, of Bristol, VA, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Silas was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures-fishing, working on cars, and spending time outdoors with his hands in the dirt, whether mowing, weedeating, or doing farm work. He was a hard worker with a kind heart, but above all, he was most proud of his children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lois Estep McCracken and Silas Eller McCracken; and two beloved granddaughters, Domitila "Makayela" Gomez and Kaitlynn Elizabeth Ray.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda McCracken; his children, Ashley Marie Scyphers, Tasha Renee Ray, Silas Edward McCracken II, and Layla Louann Brewer; and six grandchildren, Alex Surgeon, Evan Alvarez, Silas McCracken, Julie "Alainna" Scyphers, Charles Ray, and Kayden Ray. He also leaves behind a special niece who was dear to his heart, Julie Busacco; two sisters, Donna Marie Jones and Thelma Watson; and one brother, Steve McCracken.
