Sonja Laverne Rogers

Sonja LaVerne (Stacy) Rogers, age 62, of Kingsport, TN, was called home to Heaven by our Lord and Savior on August 19, 2025.

She was born on August 17, 1963, to the late Margaret Stiltner and Eddie Stacy in Phoenixville, PA.

She was a graduate of Elkhorn City High School, class of 1982, and Northeast State Community College, class of 2013.

Sonja was a cherished member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church. From sunup to sundown, she would worship, praise, and give thanks unto the Lord. Music was a great love of hers, and she used it to give glory to God every day. She loved Jesus with her whole heart and was a humble, faithful servant.

She will be remembered by her brothers and sisters not only as family, but as lifelong friends whose presence brought comfort, joy, and strength. She loved her family and considered each of them a part of God's biggest blessings. She loved cooking and feeding them, especially on holidays. She took great joy in cooking for them all. Her family meant the world to her, each and every one. She enjoyed lengthy phone calls, especially when it was family. She would talk for hours on end.

Sonja had an amazing sense of humor. She loved to laugh and would make you laugh just by seeing her joy. She loved hearing good jokes and usually had one to tell. She had a beautiful smile that was undoubtedly contagious. One couldn't help but smile because she was just that great.

She enjoyed sitting on the porch with a cup of hot coffee in her hand. She loved being outside, listening to and feeding the birds peanuts on the banister. She enjoyed the wind and even a good, steady rain. It provided a beautiful background sound while she had her talks with God. She loved that part of the day.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three beautiful daughters, Natasha Anderson (Johnathon) of Kingsport, TN, Crystal Tyner (Mikeyy) of Chillicothe, IL, and Shila King (Harrison) of Kingsport, TN; eleven precious grandchildren, Natalie, Kierra, Emileigh, Ethan, LaVeah, Shea, Elionna, Ja'Lyn, Josslyn, Maddie, and 'B'; her three brothers and one sister, Eddie Stacy (Kimberly) of Kingsport, TN, Anthony Stacy (Donna) of Regina, KY, Stephanie Short (Gary), and Blake Stacy of Staunton, VA; as well as her adored nieces and nephews, Kayla, Hannah, Keisha, Autumn, Taylor, Zach, Anthony, and Gary.
