Stephen Joseph Williams, 57, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Stephen was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and a man whose kindness touched countless lives. He shared a life filled with love and memories with his wife of 27 wonderful years, Cathy Williams. A mechanic his entire life, Stephen was known for his hard work, skillful hands, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Above all else, Stephen loved his family deeply. He was a wonderful father to Ryan, Travis, and Bradley, and treasured every moment spent with them. He adored all of his nieces and nephews and was fiercely loyal to the people he loved. Stephen also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Trixie, Mika, and Dixie.
Stephen never met a stranger and had a gift for bringing laughter wherever he went. His quick wit, playful sense of humor, and the smile that always showed off his dimples made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He had a kind heart, a caring spirit, and a way of making everyone around him feel welcome and loved.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Travis Mizzell; his parents, Charles and Connie Williams; and his sister, Charlotte.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Cathy Williams; his sons, Ryan Mizzell (and granddaughter Macey) and Bradley Mizzell; his brother, Charles Williams and wife Amy; his sister, Lori Williams; his aunt and uncle, Melvin and Dale Williams; along with several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives were forever touched by him.
The family would like to express their deepest love and appreciation to his daughter-in-law, Sara Goodwin, for the tremendous love, care, and unwavering support she showed to both Stephen and Cathy through every step of this journey. Her compassion, thoughtfulness, and faithful presence during such difficult times brought comfort beyond words and will always hold a special place in their hearts.
