Theresa Ann Mautner

Theresa Mautner, 63, of Kingsport, TN. passed peacefully on Wednesday January 28, 2026. Theresa was born 5 Dec, 1962 in Athens, TN to Frank and Jessie Lipoma. She attended Sullivan North High School and was in the first graduating class in 1981. She then attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN graduating in 1982 as a Surgical Technician. She worked as a Surgical Technician at Holston Valley Community Hospital and other area Hospital facilities until her retirement in 2020. Following in her Dad's footsteps, she continued to serve others in the most compassionate ways, sometimes to a fault, giving the shirt off her back. She was a great Cook, CareGiver, dancer, true artist of various crafts and the Life of the Party. A favorite pastime was going thrifting with her friends, nieces and nephews and sharing her crafts and products with vendors from Kingsport all the way to Pigeon Forge. She loved going on road trips with friends and frequently visiting Dollywood as a Season Ticket Holder. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, smile and the kindest, biggest Heart. After Hurricane Helene, she organized, collected, created and personally delivered gift packages for communities most hard hit. She loved her Crosby Retreat Gang and her weekly Bible Study Group like family and leaves behind many cherished memories and lifelong friendships.

Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Frank Lipoma and numerous Aunts and Uncles who she loved dearly, even caring for several at the end of their lives. She is survived by her mother, Jessie, Sister, Patty Gill (Mike), and Brother, Tony Lipoma (Donna), Nephews, Matthew and Brendan, Nieces, Katelyn and Alexis and Aunt Trula Uncle Dobyn Fleming and various cousins and extended family members, too many to name.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on February 7 at 1 PM followed by a Celebration of Life from 2-4 PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church located at 125 Coley St., Kingsport, TN 37660.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shades of Grace ((<https://netfoodbank.org/food-pantry/shades-of-grace/>) or to Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
