In Loving Memory of T.J. Gibson

T.J. Gibson, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026.

Born on September 8, 1956, in Sneedville, Hancock County, Tennessee, T.J. was a man known for his deep love of God, his family, and his many friends. He found great joy in the outdoors and especially loved camping and spending time along the rivers of Sneedville, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He served in the Army Reserves and completed the Combat Medical Specialist course in training. Those who knew T.J. will remember his kind heart, his love of nature, and the special way he cared for the people in his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard William Gibson; his mother, Mary Stewart Wolf; his brothers, Ray, Roy, Silas, Coy, and James Donald; and his sisters, Eva, Pearl, Winnie, and Wanda.

He is survived by his brother, William Gibson and wife, Sherry, of Kingsport, Tennessee; his sisters, Vicia Sensabaugh and husband, Bob, of Mount Carmel, Tennessee; Esther Flynn of Kingsport, Tennessee; Glenda Holtzclaw and husband, Martin, of Mount Carmel, Tennessee; and Sharon Marriott of Maryland.

T.J. was loved by so many and was blessed with several special people throughout his life. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

The family would like to give a great big thank you to Gentiva Hospice and a special thank you to his nurse, Shayla, who was one of a kind. We loved her like family, as she treated us like family.

Though he is no longer with us, T.J.’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His faith, love, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
