Tracey Anne (Powers) Bumgardner, 58, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 14, 2025. Born on May 13, 1967, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to Clayton and Rita Collier Powers.
Tracey loved her life and loved her family. She was a professional piping and instrument drawer and worked on the design of several power plants, both nuclear and conventional, in the US and abroad. She was very good at her work and was often sought out by different companies. In 2023, her husband, Dale, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and Tracey quickly went from wife to caretaker. She moved them from North Carolina back to Kingsport to be near family. Shortly after his passing, her father became ill, and Tracey moved in to take care of him until his passing. The last two years of her life were spent in the greatest service by taking care of others.
If you knew Tracey, you knew she had a love and passion for two things: The Tennessee Vols football and Dogs. So much that her registered Corgi's official name is "Peyton Calls An Audible" which she shortened to "Audie".
Tracey was a believer in Christ. She was saved in the summer of 1975 while she and her brother were attending "Camp Bethel", a Christian summer camp in Wise, VA. She is now at rest with her Lord, her husband, her mother, and her father.
Tracey was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Bumgardner; her loving parents, Clayton Powers and Rita Collier Davenport; her stepmother, Linda Powers; and her beloved corgi-mutt. Surviving is her brother Randy Powers and wife Pam; Brother James Pritt and sister April Rigsby; nieces Candace Powers Bennett and husband Brent; Sarah Powers; Cheyenne Rigsby, Olivia, and Alissa Pritt; Nephew Dillion Rigsby; great nephews, Connor and Kellan Bennett; and very special friends, Melissa, Tonya, and Trina.
Following Tracey's wishes, the family will not hold a public funeral but will hold a private family service at the family cemetery to bury her ashes alongside her husband and mother at a date yet to be determined.
Tracey was such a lover of animals. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider donating to your local animal shelter in Tracey's name.
Tracey left a beautiful imprint on our lives and will be truly missed.
