Trina Lorraine Rector

Trina Lorraine Rector, 65, of Kingsport, TN, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 8, 2025. A beloved cornerstone and friend, Trina passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and fierce advocacy. She was known for her giving heart - always the first to show up, speak out, and pour into others.

She loved the arts - music, painting, photography, ballet - but music was her greatest passion, especially the classic 60's and 70's. She adored strong, unapologetic female singers like Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, and Stevie Nicks, and their songs about overcoming life's tragedies deeply resonated with her.

A graduate of Tulane University, Trina also interned under a renowned archaeologist, Dr. Hiwassee, and traveled widely with her late husband, Del Rector, to places such as Singapore, Greece, and Italy. Singapore was especially dear to her because she loved the people and their culture. The love story of Trina and Del was one that rivaled Mark Antony and Cleopatra's, and she spoke of it often with pride and joy.

Trina had a passion for standing up for what was right, championing those who didn't have a voice, and encouraging everyone around her to live with kindness and courage. She cherished her "framily" - the friends who became family - and made every moment brighter with her laughter, compassion, and unwavering support.

Her life was a testament to the power of love in action. Whether she was organizing, advocating, or simply sitting with someone who needed comfort, Trina made an impact that will continue to ripple through the lives she touched.

She will be remembered for her big heart, her bold spirit, and the way she inspired others to be better and do better. She is loved and will be deeply missed. Fly high, madam.

A Memorial Service will be held at on Thursday October 2nd at 1:00 pm at Shades of Grace Church in Kingsport, Tennessee.
