Virgil Eugene Hawkins

Virgil Eugene “Hawk” Hawkins, (76), passed away suddenly at his home in Mount Carmel, Tennessee after a brief illness on April 3rd, 2019. Gene was born on December 9th, 1942 in Kingsport, Tennessee where he grew up until moving to Georgia in the 60s. He was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast after purchasing a 62 Honda bike. Gene made a point to hit as many biker rallies as he could in a years time. Everything from Sturgis, to Key West many miles were traveled and many friendships were created. Preceded by his parents T.E. and Ethel Hawkins, wife: Sheila Hawkins Survived by son: Harold “Hoppie” Hawkins, daughter: Brenda Sams and husband Jerry, sister: Phyllis Ferrell, grandchildren: Joshua Dykes wife Tonya, Austin Hawkins, Aaron Sams, and Hope Hawkins, great grandchild Brady Chatman and another on the way. His dog Ashley, all his motorcycle family. A graveside service will be held at the Church Hill Memory Gardens on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:30 AM.
