Virginia Rose, born to Chester and Mary Salyers on February 9, 1948, departed this life on November 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Chester Brown Salyers Jr., as well as her first husband, James Rose Jr., and her second husband, Michael Wooten.
She is survived by her children, Michael Rose and Tina Ingle; stepchildren, Christy Owens, Lisa Strickland, Amy Wooten, and Brian Wooten; sister Sandra (Gene) Coggins; grandchildren Michael Crowe, Amanda Amyx (fiance, Edgar Mendoza), and Curtis Ratliff (fiance, Kelsey Stewart); and great-grandson Kinsley Stewart. She also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter on the way.
Virginia enjoyed going to yard sales, planting flowers and tomato plants, and sitting on her swing on the front porch. She loved her two little dogs and her cat. She never missed watching the Young & Restless or cheering on her beloved Cowboys. She treasured Thanksgiving and time spent surrounded by her family. Virginia loved helpings others and ensuring everyone was fed.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the day and night shift staff on 500D ICU at Holston Valley Hospital for the excellent care they provided for their mother. They also thank Dr. Miller for everything he did to try and save her. She was deeply loved by her family and will be remembered as the best mom ever.
